Woodforum - Wood

Belgian Woodforum the national wood information centre, is commissioned to inform the consumer and the professional on all possible aspects of wood.

The new website is not only filled with a new graphic style (more visual, abundantly illustrated with beautiful photos), but there is also a completely renewed content and structure in place.

Creating “Experience”, but at the same time offer solid and complete information to both consumer and professional, was part of the challenges. The fundamental idea was to see the visitor as central point.

The result has not been disappointing: thanks to immense efforts and a perfect synergy with the client and their employees, everything was well thought out. The structure starts with the needs of the visitor and not from the Belgian Woodforum structure.

This visitor - tradesman or individual - will receive a very comprehensive view on all aspects of wood. The search module produces almost 100 types of wood in a structured view. Many applications of wood are neatly and recognizable arranged for the consumer, relevantly documented and illustrated and linked with the types of wood. The experience is complemented with the 'images of wood' photo album.

From March 21 until March 29th, the big wood contest during the “Week of Wood 2009” will increase the flow of visitors to the website. ON course to the new website (with the contest as attraction) the regular visitor numbers were doubled, due to the action and the announcements before. This was done through editorials in traditional press, professionals, but also Google Adwords and Facebook.

Client testimonials:

Indie Group has succeeded in using its professional and flexible attitude, to transform our statistical and scientific information databank, into an interactive lifestyle website with easy, accessible information.

Combined with Search Engine Optimization, this increased the number of visitors that found www.hout.be (15% after 1 year); more importantly it has provoked more enthusiasm about wood, more requests for information and it seems that more and more people are convinced that (applying) wood should be included in their building and remodeling projects.
